Funny Forest
If you’ve been reading our comics for a while, you’ll know that we’re a bunch of tree-huggin’ saps. We love using our silly talents to spread our appreciation of Mother Nature. Comics have thus far been our favorite medium to do so. But a few years ago, an idea started brewing in our minds: what if we left the world of drawing and make-believe and created something out there, a real place with real trees.
And thus an idea grew: let’s plant a forest.
Forests are inspiring places. A sunny spot where bugs confer on important bug news, a spooky dwelling where witches gather with their coven, a quiet refuge for a contemplative Grim Reaper to recharge after a day of reaping souls. Over the years, we’ve written a lot of comics about forests and now we want to build a new one!
And what kind of forest would we want to build? A funny forest, course. And we’re building it with the help of you and our community on Patreon.
Everybody told us this idea was crazy. Everybody except the Naturlandstiftung Saar, who said, “Sure, we’ll help you build a funny forest” – which is good news for the trees because they plant trees for a living. But we still need help and that’s where you come in. If you want us to plant a tree for you, listen up:
- You’re already a patron? You get a tree!
- You’re not a patron yet? Sign up and you get a tree.
- The deadline to sign up is November 30th, 2026 (because at some point we have to tell the tree people a number)
- You want to plant it yourself? Come to our planting party. If you can’t make it, we’ll plant it for you.
- Where is the planting party? On the Peterberg in beautiful Nonnweiler, Saarland, Germany.
- When is it? Early December, we hope. The exact date depends on the weather but we will let you know in time.
